Golconda Illinois - Rich Past Bright Future

Pope County Court House

Situated on the public square at the east end of Main Street, it was constructed in 1872 at the cost of $20,389.01. This building replaced one erected in 1832. The first Court House in Golconda to occupy this site, a log structure, was built in 1817 at the cost of $66.67.
