  • October 21st  Squads and Rods Car Show
  • Sustainable Living Expo at the Dixon Springs Agricultural Center, Hwy 145, Pope County Take a scenic drive to rural Pope county and experience this one-of-a-kind outdoor event focused on sustainability in the broadest sense. Over 150 available presentations and demonstrations on home energy, local foods, conservation, and survival. Exhibit tent featuring products and services related to sustainable living; artisan tent showcasing local creativity; kid's area with hands-on activities; traveling science center; 50ft energy wall exhibit; and much more!   • Kincaid Mounds Field Day. Formal programs will start at 10:00 a.m., 12:00 noon, and 2:00 p.m. and there will be artifact displays and information tables from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Members of the Kincaid Mounds Support Organization will present information on the Kincaid Mounds and their Mississippian Culture. Field Supervisor of the Southern Illinois University Archaeology Field School, will provide information on the SIU Summer Field School excavations at the Mounds. The program is free.
